In South Africa, radio stations have voted it as the best Indian song of the year. The magic of 'Kajra Re' was evident when Aishwarya Rai , Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan jived to the song on stage in Amsterdam at the last year's IIFA awards. The whole gathering at the show was on their feet after the song and the walls of the venue reverberated with the sound of applause. 
While the rage of this song in India is overwhelming, the number has also become a favorite of the listeners of Hindi film music in South Africa. 'Kajra Re' has been voted the best song of the year by three radio stations (including Lotus FM and Hindvani 91.5fm) catering to South African Indians. Besides Kajra Re, 'My Dil Goes Hmmm', the melodious track from Salaam Namaste , and 'Just Walk Into My Life' from Main Aisa Hi Hoon were among the top five songs across all the radio stations in South Africa. Kajra Re is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and sung by Alisha Chinai and Shankar Mahadevan.
