HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | MUSIC Remo to perform at 'Incredible India' event in US03rd Sept 2007 10.31 IST By Agencies India's pop sensation Remo Fernandes , who is invited to the "Incredible India@60" event in US, will dish out a surprise musical piece for this special occasion. "I was asked to perform at the show because of the music I have already created and am known for, not for some new tunes which I might create for the show. However, having said that, I will be preparing one or two surprise pieces for this special occasion," Remo is quoted by a news agency.
Remo and his band "Remo And The Microwave Papadums" will perform in the four-day event organised by the Tourism and Culture Ministry and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The singer, however, preferred to keep his surprise in wraps. "I do not wish to talk about them now, as my ideas have often been stolen before," he said. Expressing excitement in participating in such a event, he said, "it is always exciting performing abroad, but it is more so when you're representing your country officially. There's that added feeling of patriotic pride and commitment." Remo-led band would be performing at three different places Bryant Park on September 24 and South Street Seaport on September 25 and 26. "The idea is to portray and project an image of 'modern' India, not just the India of great classical of folk music, both of which will also be projected with all the importance and respect they deserve," he said.
