HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | MUSIC Rock band 'Scorpions' coming to India05th Dec 2007 16.09 IST By ApunKaChoice The winds of change are set to blow in Shillong, Mumbai and Bangalore where the German rock band will perform live this month. Shillong is ready to be stung. Fans of hard rock and metal music are already packing their bags and heading to the city that is fast emerging as the most favored destination in India for international rock bands.
Scorpions, the hard rock/metal band that rose to popularity in early 1970s and has maintained its place in the rock world for more than three decades, is coming to rock us like a hurricane. The band will perform live in a concert on December 12 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex in Shillong as part of its ‘Humanity World Tour’. Rudolf Schenker, the rhythm guitarist and founder member of the band, says the band will play all the favourite numbers, from ‘Winds of Change’, ‘Rock You Like a Hurricane’, ‘Still Loving You’, ‘Big City Night’ and ‘Under The Same Sun’ to the recent ‘Humanity’. This will be second visit by Scorpions to India after their Bangalore concert in 2001. After Shillong, the band will also perform in Mumbai and Bangalore. Rudolf says ‘Scorpions’ has a long lineup of loyal fans in India. The guitarist has also been inspired by Indian philosophy.
