Moving away from Bollywood for a while, actor Saif Ali Khan is ‘breaking on through to the other side’ and once again letting go of the rocker inside him.
The dashing Khan is back at his six-string. He ain’t got bleeding fingers, for they have become calloused by regular playing. And he is strumming those power chords in the cover versions of forever-green rock n’ roll classics by the legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and The Doors.
Yes, Saif Ali Khan is one of the main attractions in the ongoing 10-day rock concert tour in four main Indian cities. The concerts feature performances by Pakistani band Strings and Indi-rock band Parikrama.
The tour began with a rocking concert in Bangalore on Friday, followed by a concert in Mumbai on Sunday night, Jan 20.
Kolkata will be the next stop (on Jan 25) and the tour will conclude on Jan 27 in Delhi.
Saif will jam with Parikrama in the concerts, standing up as the band’s rhythm and lead guitarist. He will strum guitar and pluck notes on the classics from the bands mentioned above and some of Parikrama’s original songs.
Well, that’s the way we want to rock n’ roll. Isn’t it?
(Tickets for the concert are priced from Rs.450 to 600)
