"Run Just Run" – sings Shah Rukh Khan

Unlike the ticket sales of his IPL team, Shah Rukh Khan ’s enthusiasm for Kolkata Knight Riders is unflagging.

What King Khan does, he does it in style. The superstar is not leaving any stone unturned to promote his IPL team ahead of the upcoming tournament. Now, he has himself sung a song for his team.

Titled “Run Just Run”, the hip-hop song is composed by Bappi Lahiri and was recorded on Sunday night by his son Bappa. Shah Rukh had already done his rehearsals to the same song sung by Kunal Ganjawala.

The recording began at Bandra’s Octavius Studio just a little while after midnight. Shah Rukh, a little tense at first, finished the recording by 3 am. But he did not leave the studio after that.

Bappa did all the mixing, rhythm, and programming, and a final cut was ready by 5 am. Shah Rukh heard the song and liked it.

“Run Just Run” has lyrics both in Hindi and English. Virag Mishra is the lyricist. The song is not just another track. Its words reflect SRK’s philosophy of life that one should keep running for higher goals. That is why SRK has been part of the track right from its conception to execution.

The song is a motivational track. Both Bappi and Bappa were impressed by SRK’s conviction and finesse as a singer.

The superstar, however, is self-effacing. He says he did just an okay job behind the microphone but it was Bappi Lahiri and Bappa who worked on the track and made it good.
