Shruti Haasan composes music for dad's film

A multi-talented personality, Shruti Haasan is debuting as music director for dad Kamal Haasan’s bilingual films which are remakes of the Bollywood thriller A Wednesday .

As a rock music aficionado, Shruti says she’s trying to stick to the director and producer’s vision while composing music for the film’s Tamil and Telugu version starring Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal .


“I add in elements of my flavour but mostly keep true to their vision. I am composing the music for the Tamil as also the Telugu version which is called Ee Nadu,” Shruti is quoted as saying.

Though ‘A Wednesday’ didn’t rely too much on music, the film’s Tamil and Telugu versions – titled 'Unnaipol Oruvan' and ‘Ee Nadu’ respectively – will have music playing a significant part.

“The music is also becoming an important accessory to the entire project,” she revealed.

Apart from composing music for dad’s film, Shruti is also making her acting debut in director Soham Shah’s action thriller Luck opposite Imran Khan .

Shruti says acting and music are equally dear to her.

“I love singing, acting and composing music. Thank God, I don't have to choose just one,” Shruti said.
