Lacks the magic - The 8x10 Tasveer Music Review |

When it comes to Akshay's film, the music is bound to be good, and if it's a movie by Nagesh Kukunoor, the music has to be soulful and moving. So does the music of '8x10 Tasveer' live up to expectations? Well, the answer is - not really.
Music director duo Salim-Suleiman has done a very average job for this thriller flick. The album features ten songs written by Irfan Siddique and Sameer. However, the promotional track is by international rap star Bohemia.
Hafiz Khuda , the track effortlessly sung by singers Mohit Chauhan and Tulsi Kumar, is a romantic number lilting to ears. Tulsi's mellifluous voice is well balanced with the husky sensuous voice of Mohit. The remix version of the song is a bit pacy and has lounge effect with no specific modulations.
I got the Picture by Bohemia sounds same like the one rapper did in 'Chandni Chowk To China'. Though the video of the song has been shot stylishly, the track itself lacks the vigour to be the film's promotional number. However, the song's remix version is catchy with a dash of Punjabi beats.
The song Aaja Maahi has an impressive melody crooned by Neeraj Sridhar and Tulsi Kumar and will stir your heart with its intonation, especially retro style singing of chorus makes the song more interesting. The remix version does not do any good to the original track.
Nazaara Hai is sung stylishly by rock singer Vishal Dadlani. It seems the singer in Vishal is getting more noticed than the composer, as he is emerging as a good option to sing soft rock numbers in Bollywood. The remix version of the track just acts as filler in the album.
The music of Kuchh Is Tarah is the same as Haafiz Khuda. Only lyrics have been changed, that's it. And what to say about the remix version? Nothing unusual. Just slight variations of electronic music.
Only tracks 'Hafiz Khuda' and 'Aaja Maahi' are worth listening over and over, but will lose charm gradually. Wordings of the songs are middling. And the album appears a sheer disappointment for a Nagesh film. In his previous films, whether it was 'Dor' or 'Iqbal', the music was heart-wrenching.
Salim-Suleiman's score in '8x10 Tasveer' lacks the magic to catch your fancy. For an album like this which features half of the fillers, it feels like something is missing.
