'Barsaat' is a romantic-musical movie produced and directed by Suneel Darshan. The film stars Bobby Deol, Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu in a love triangle.
The film has Bobby Deol playing an ambitious guy named Arav. To chase his dreams, Arav leaves his home for better prospects abroad. Besides ambition, Arav has a golden heart too. He is the man who drops everything to return home after hearing that his father is unwell.
Priyanka Chopra plays Kajal, a dreamy-eyed girl who has an unshakable conviction in the power of love. She is the one who waits for love, rather chase it obsessively. She has the faith that a true emotion that rises from the bottom of the heart seldom goes unreciprocated.
Bipasha Basu plays Anna whose love is obsessive, possessive and intense. She is a fast, passionate, practical girl, the one who knows how to take what she wants.
Both Kajal and Anna are in love with Arav. He too reciprocates their feelings, but is not sure with whom truly his heart lies. A series of incidents that take place in the story help him take the decision and choose his ladylove.
'Barsaat' was originally supposed to cast Akshay Kumar in the leading role. But as the actor was not able to spare enough dates for his favorite director Suneel Darshan, Bobby Deol was eventually roped in.
Some say that Akshay excused himself from the project because he did not want to fuel any further rumors of his possible fling with Priyanka Chopra.
Coincidently, Bobby Deol's first Bollywood film was also titled 'Barsaat'. The film also marked the debut of Akshay's wife Twinkle Khanna.
'Barsaat' has Bipasha Basu working with Suneel Darshan for the first time. In the movie, she will be seen in her newfound slim and slinky figure.
The major highlight of the film is the presence of two of the hottest babes Bipasha Basu and Priyanka Chopra. There are some song sequences and intimate scenes in the film that hold promise of ample titillation.
'Barsaat' is made under the banner of Shree Krishna International. The film has music by Nadeem-Shravan and lyrics by Sameer.
