A Hatke Love Story

What if you set out to diligently find a bride for your elder brother and, having found her at last, fall in love with her? Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a quirky romantic comedy set in the world of the upper middle class in Northern India.

The film stars Imran Khan, Katrina Kaif and Ali Zafar in principal roles. The supporting roles are played by Tara D’Souza, Kanwaljit Singh, Parikshit Sahani, Suparna Marwah, Mahru Sheikh, Arfeen Khan and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayub.

The movie is the directorial debut of Ali Abbas Zafar who has been an assistant director on a number of Yashraj films. This is also Imran and Katrina’s first film together. The film was shot at various locations in India: Delhi, Chandigarh, Agra, Mussoorie, Haridwar, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

Imran Khan as Kush Agnihotri

Dehradun boy Kush Agnihotri lives in Mumbai and works as an assistant director in the film industry. But his newest job is to find the ideal Indian bride for his elder brother Luv Agnihotri (Ali Zafar) who lives in London. After a long search the sincere Kush finally ends up finding the right girl in Dimple Dixit (Katrina Kaif). But things start to get crazy when he falls for his brother’s Dulhan.

If there is a word to describe Luv, it would be -- confused. This stylish videsi babu seems to have it all. A great job as an investment banker and a great life in London. A Casanova at heart, with a weakness for a pretty face. One day he realizes that his life partner should be an ideal desi girl and promptly asks his younger brother Kush to find that perfect bride.

Dimple Dixit is a classic case of bahar se kuch aur and ander se kuch aur. Born in London, this livewire has believed in living life with no boundaries, yet she’s always remained a true desi at heart. Dimple decides that she finally wants to settle down in life and is on the lookout for a rich, sorted out package.

Synopsis

Kush Agnihotri (Imran Khan) is looking for the ideal Indian bride for his brother Luv Agnihotri (Ali Zafar) who stays in London.

In his quest, Kush goes through an array of wacky encounters with several families until he finally finds that perfect girl in Dimple Dixit (Katrina Kaif), the craziest / wackiest girl he has ever known.

Both the families meet. Formalities completed. Preparations proceed in full swing. And just then, our hero Kush falls in love with Dimple... his brother's dulhan.

What follows is a comical and unpredictable series of events in this unusual topsy-turvy tale of love.

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan has music by Sohail Sen and lyrics by Irshad Kamil. The directors of choreography are Bosco-Caesar. The costumes are designed by Rocky S, Harmeet Sethi and Neha Bhatnagar.

Written and Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Aditya Chopra, the film releases worldwide on September 09, 2011.
