'Nenjil' is a run-of-the-mill candyfloss romantic tale unfolding in London.

In the film, director Selvah, who excels in action movies, is on a different pitch. The attempt to be different has not been entirely successful, though it must be deemed to be a bold attempt.

But, unfortunately for Selvah, there is nothing novel about the story and script. Both traverse ground trodden umpteen times earlier.

You might be excused if you find shades of similarities with Shah Rukh Khan's Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge .

A motley group of 10 are on a London visit - a prize for winning a lottery. Youngsters Anandh (Navdeep) and Priya (Aparna), fall in love in no time.

The villain comes in the form of Rishi (Manish), a tourist guide who tries to create a rift between the lovers. Of course, he wants to marry Priya.

Krishnamurthy (Thalaivasal Vijay), Kalyani (Ranjitha) and Vellam (Vadivelu) are the well-wishers of the lovers and want to see them united.

Will Rishi succeed in his nefarious plans? Will the lovers get united in the end?

The remainder of the film tackles the denouement.

Navdeep walks away with the acting honours. Glamorous Aparna is good in patches. Vadivelu and Mayilsamy get their comedy act together in style.

Another plus point of 'Nenjil' is Imman's music. Senthil Kumar's camera boasts of some excellent shots of London.

There is nothing special about 'Nenjil'. Still, Selvah has made a sincere attempt to make a clean entertainer.
