RATING: 6 Nadeem-Shravan, the music composer duo whose forte is syrupy romantic tunes, comes up with another melodious albeit repetitive music score in Vikram Bhatt's next flick “Raaz” starring the newcomers Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu.
The album straightaway takes you into the romantic mood with the opening song “Jo Bhi Kasmein”, a touching duet impressively rendered by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan. Both the singers display their vocal expertise to the hilt and convey the mood convincingly.
The same however could not be said of their second duet “Kitna Hai Pyara”, which is void of any fervor despite having some good riffs and bass lines. Even their third duet “Itna Main Chahoon Tujhe” is monotonous and dull.
On the other hand, Abhijit impresses with his virile rendition and Alka matches him in “Tum Agar Saamne” - a catchy song about a couple who are about to get married. Still it is Alka's solo number “Aapke Pyaar Mein” that stands out in the album because of its mushy lyrics (by Sameer) and free-flowing melody line that catches your fancy instantly.
In “Mujhe Tere Jaisi” Udit shares the microphone with the little-known Sarika Kapoor who has a shrill and kiddish voice. The song is a fast-paced romantic track with shades of “Dil Deewana” from “Ek Rishta”. Similarly Abhijit's solo number “Pyaar Se Pyaar Hum” sounds like a rehash of Nadeem-Shravan's earlier compositions.
The composer duo maintain the upbeat mood in the closing number “Yeh Saher”, another foot-savvy dance track sung with gusto by Bali Brahmbhatt, Jolly Mukherji and Suzzane. Jolly is most impressive of the lot. The song has the chants of Shanti Shanti in the backdrop. Sameer's trite words attempt to eulogize the city and hail it as an ideal and peaceful place on earth.
