It was love at first sight for unemployed Ashish Khanna and Rani Bhalla at a cold drink stall. When Rani introduces Ashish to her businessman dad, Tau, and mom, they unanimously frown upon this alliance, until Ashish promises to get a job, save enough money, buy a flat, etc.. Ashish does get a small job with Izzat Papads, and then also starts selling steroids out of the back of a van. He gets noticed by a Ad-firm owner, and gets hired. Soon he has all the luxuries that he had always dreamed of. When the Bhallas come to know about this, they decide to welcome him as their son-law, and a lavish engagement party takes place. It is then Ashish finds out that he has cancer, and he begins to create misunderstandings between him and Rani. He tries becoming an alcoholic, but that is considered normal with the Bhalla family; he confesses to Rani that he has loved Sania, a model with ad-agency, which is welcomed by Rani as being truthful and honest. But when Rani notices that he has put up Sania's photos all over his apartment, it is then that she breaks off the engagement. Ashish knows that Sania will not marry him, as she is a flirt. But when he is assigned to go to Malaysia with Sania, that is where he finds out that Sania is not quite a flirt, but wants to marry him. She even introduces him to her brother, Anna, who instantly approves of the match. Now Anna inducts Ashish into the family business - which is extortion, and a stunned Ashish is trained to be use guns and defend himself. When the time comes for marriage, Ashish confesses that he has cancer. An angered Anna summons Dr. Rustom, who in turn gives a clean health chit, and confirms that Ashish had overhead a conversation about another patient and had misunderstood. A hapless Ashish, fresh out of lies, must now resign himself to getting married to Sania - or else be hunted down and killed by Anna and his gang.
The movie tells the story of a man caught between two girls - his gorgeous girlfriend and a sexy model.
Aashish (Akshaye Khanna) and Rani (Ayesha Takia) make an almost perfect picture of two people in love with each other, except the fact that Aashish gets over-excited and tense in nervous situations. He needs to pop a pill every now and then to keep his calm and cool.
And there is also Aashish's friend Rohit (Aftab Shivdasani) who has a crush on Rani. But Rani doesn't reciprocate Rohit's advances and stays committed to her man Aashish.
When Rani's parents come to know about Aashish's condition and his nervous, restless behaviour, they try to separate the two lovers. In the meantime, Aashish visits his doctor who tells him that he suffers from hypertension. But Aashish misunderstands the diagnosis and thinks he has cancer.
Aashish is shattered. But he wishes the best for Rani and wants her to marry someone else before he dies. So he decides to play a naatak that would make Rani hate him.
The whole world knows that the best way to make a girl hate you is by flirting with another girl. This is where Sania (Mallika Sherawat) comes in.
Sania is an uninhibited girl. At the slightest provocation she is all over Aashish. This obviously does not go down well with Rani.
Devastated and dejected, Rani dumps Aashish and asks her parents to look for a suitable boy for her.
Everything seems to be going as per Aashish's plans. Also comes into the picture, Anna (Sunil Shetty), a goon who seems to have some kind of uncanny desire to thrash Aashish.
On the other hand, Rani's parents choose Rohit (Aftab Shivdasani) as the groom for their daughter.
Just in the nick of time, Aashish learns that he is not suffering from cancer. Now he wants to regain Rani's love. He knows the only way to do it is by breaking up Rani and Rohit's wedding. Will he succeed?
What will happen to Sania? Will she let go of Aashish so easily? And will Anna quench his thirst for breaking Aashish's bones?
