RATING: 8 With Aishwariya Rai making news because of her latest movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam having a successful opening all over India, all eyes are now on her next big project with Subhash Ghai's Taal, which, as the title suggests, is a music-based movie.
The music album of Taal has already been released and is getting good response. Music whizkid A R Rahman has done some good work and it shows in all the songs. Anad Bkashi's lyrics complement his tunes.
The side A of the album opens with Ishq Bina, which is the best song of the album. No doubt this song has been used in promotion campaigns on various TV channels. The song is sung by Sonu Nigam, Anuradha Sriram, Sujata and A R Rahman. The highlight of the song is the voice of relatively unknown Anuradha Sriram.
The other good songs are Dil Ye Bechain (Singers: Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik) and Kariye Na...Kariye Na (Singers: Alka Yagnik, Sukhwinder Singh).
While side A has some sweet songs with good composition, side B is full of fusion music. Rahman's talent has been fully utilized by the great Bollywood showman Subhash Ghai.
Those who love good music should go for this album. The songs are lilting. The instrumental music, the folk touch and the qawwali make it worth listening to.
