Waqt: The Race Against Time Preview

After acting together in director Vipul Shah's debut flick Aankhen, Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar team together to play the father-son duo in Shah's next film, a family drama titled Waqt - A Race Against Time.

The movie stars Priyanka Chopra as Akshay's love interest and wife. Vipul Shah's wife Shefali Shah is paired with Bachchan in the film.

The film explores father-son relationship from a new perspective. Ishwar Sharawat (Amitabh Bachchan) is less like a father and more like a friend to his son Aditya (Akshay Kumar). Ishwar is a business tycoon and wants his happy-go-lucky son to become a responsible individual.

Aditya, on the other hand, is a frivolous character who takes everything easy in life and shuns responsibilities. He is in love with Mitali (Priyanka Chopra), daughter of Nathu (Boman Irani). After some initial fallouts, Aditya and Mitali marry with the blessing of their parents.

Ishwar, who had expected his son to become a responsible man after marriage, is disappointed to see no change in Aditya. In a desperate measure, he expels his son from his house. Aditya and his pregnant wife are now left to fend for themselves.

As water gets to his neck, Aditya takes up a job as a stuntman and at the same time prepares for a star search contest. His hard work and preparation pays back and he is chosen to participate in the finals of the star search contest.

As he stands on the verge of writing his own destiny, Aditya comes to know about the real reasons why his once-doting father shut the doors to his house to him.
