Private security guards of Rani Mukherjee allegedly assaulted media persons from a news channel recently.
Rani, Konkona Sen Sharma and other crewmembers of Yashraj Films are shooting for the movie in Varanasi.
The trouble started near the Dashwashamedh Ghat when the film crew, including Rani and Konkona, were leaving for their hotel after a daylong shoot at Mirghat edging the Ganga river.
When some journalists tried to get close to the crewmembers, security guards escorting the film crew roughed up the media persons.
Some of the journalists sustained injuries and one camera was damaged.
Later, the police reached the spot and took control of the situation.
The film is being directed by Pradeep Sarkar of Parineeta fame and also stars mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan , his wife Jaya Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan .
The film is likely to be shot over the next fortnight at various locations in the holy city, including the Ramnagar Fort housing royal family of Kashi.
