Sanjay Dutt is banking on the remake of Satte Pe Satta to add another hit film to his filmography. But the remake is still stuck in pre-production stages for want of an actress.
Dutt, who is also co-producing the film, has zeroed down on Aishwarya Rai to play the role that Hema Malini played in the original film directed by Raj Sippy in 1982. Reportedly, director Soham Shah, who will direct the remake, gave a detailed narration to Aishwarya Rai a few months back and the actress told him that she will let him know her decision.
However, nearly two months have elapsed and Soham is yet to hear a reply from Ash.
Buzz is that Sanjay Dutt is getting a bit impatient because the project is stuck just for want of a leading actress. Since Dutt is on exceptionally good terms with the Bachchans he can’t even risk snubbing Ash by approaching another actress for the role.
The movie is going to have fifteen actors and several names have been doing the rounds. Dutt will play the double role enacted by Amitabh Bachchan in the 1982 original.
