Bollywood mourns the passing away of Sathya Sai Baba

On Sunday, the spiritual guru Sathya Sai Baba passed away after a prolonged illness in the Andhra town of Puttaparthi. His death, at the age of 85, has been mourned by many in the film industry.

Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his Twitter page: “Very sad to hear of the passing of Satya Sai baba... (He) sent me 'vibhuti' at the time of Coolie accident .. on getting well visited him.”

Abhishek Bachchan revealed that his wife Aishwarya Rai is a great believer of Sathya Sai Baba.

“Heard the very sad news of Shri Satya Sai Baba passing away. I remember the 1st photo i saw of him was in my dadima's mandir. Aishwarya is a great believer in him. She called this morning to give me the sad news. We send our prayers....Aum Sai Ram,” Abhishek wrote.

Rana Daggubati, who is from Andhra, tweeted: “RIP....Sathya Sai Baba. My condolences to all his followers.”

Ram Gopal Varma said: “Just heard that Baba left his body...my heart bleeds for his followers..my sincere condolences.”

Madhavan wrote on Twitter: “Sai Baba RIP. My condolences to all his followers.”

Director and producer Madhur Bhandarkar wrote: “Sad to hear about the demise of Sathya Sai Baba. He was an inspiration for many. Such an enlightened soul.”
