Shahrukh Khan keeps his ego aside and extends an olive branch to Salman Khan. Will the latter reciprocate in similar vein?
We’re not trying to rake over old coals but there is a buzz that the Salman-Shahrukh cold war which began on Katrina Kaif’s birthday in 2008, might at long last end. For it’s Shahrukh Khan himself who has, yet again, thrown a not-so-subtle hint that he’s open to shake hands with Salman and let the ugly past between them be buried for good.
At an award show held in Andheri on Tuesday night, Shahrukh Khan surprised a lot of people present there by announcing: “Wish Salman was here.”
Here’s how it happened.
Shahrukh Khan performed an act on stage after which he was made to announce the winners of the award for the Best On-Screen Couple.
The award went to Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor for their chemistry in Bodyguard and Shahrukh himself announced the duo’s names gladly.
However, Salman and Kareena were not there at the function and the film’s producers, Atul Agnihotri and his wife Alvira (Salman’s sister), received the award on their behalf.
When Atul and Alvira stepped up on stage, Shahrukh said aloud: “Wish Salman and Kareena were here to receive their award.”
This is not the first, and probably not the last, time that Shahrukh has extended an olive branch to Salman. However, when the truce between the two feuding Khans will finally take place is anybody’s guess! |
