HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | HAPPENINGS Sitar maestro Ravi Shankar to get PETA award 08th Sept 2005  20.24 IST By Agencies   People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has selected sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar , for its "Humanitarian Award" this year. PETA in a release said Pandit Ravi Shankar has been selected for the award "in recognition of his voice and time to actively promote animal rights," and the award would be presented at a function in California on September 10.
