HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | HAPPENINGS Shabana Azmi honoured at World Economic Forum30th Jan 2006 09.00 IST By Agencies After winning numerous accolades at the National level, as also overseas, veteran actress Shabana Azmi has been honoured by the World Economic forum, being held at Davos in Switzerland. The Bollywood actor was honoured with the prestigious Crystal Award by the World Economic Forum, on Saturday. 
What is commendable is that Shabana was honoured alongside Hollywood actor Michael Douglas. The honour places Shabana in the league of Hollywood greats like Paulo Coelho, Peter Gabriel, Richard Gere and Nikita Mikhalkov who have won the award in previous years. On being chosen for the prestigious award, Shabana said, “I am deeply honoured. It is a recognition that extends beyond me personally to center focus on Indian actors being celebrated internationally.” Shabana and Douglas were selected for the award, as “these are two artists who have achieved outstanding excellence in the field of culture and have used their art to reach out to other cultures”.
