HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | HAPPENINGS Mahesh Bhatt to produce film on 'custodial deaths'04th Feb 2007 12.33 IST By Agencies Renowned filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt reportedly plans to produce a film on custodial deaths in Jammu and Kashmir. “The nation has not confronted the truth of the menace of custodial deaths and misdeeds of the police force. We have already started the project, which will be directed by my daughter Pooja Bhatt ,” Bhatt is quoted by a news agency. 
Titled Dhoka (Betrayal), Kashmiri model-turned-actor Muzammil Ibrahim has been selected to play the lead role of a police officer who “takes on the enemy within the establishment”, the filmmaker is quoted to have said. He said while most of the film will be shot in Mumbai, a part of it will be shot in Kashmir Valley. “The climax of the movie will bring the top brass of the system, the administration and the police, face to face with custodial deaths, which are among the biggest human rights violations,” Bhatt added.
