Mumbai-based Christian activist organization, Catholic Secular Forum (CSF), have demanded an apology from Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Amrita Arora for hurting the sentiments of the Catholic community.
On Sunday, a media report had claimed that Salman planned to gift a painting of the 'The Last Supper' to Amrita, where the former will paint the latter's family members instead of Christ and his Apostles.
The report also speculated on who will sit at the center of the table, in place of Christ and who will be at the side.
Joseph Dias, General Secretary of the forum, said ''The image of the ''The Last Supper' is revered by the Catholic community and this act is an insult to Christianity, hurting the sentiments of the community at large''.
The CSF has sent a letter of protest to the actor's residence and demanded an apology, failing which the forum will hold a demonstration outside the home of Amrita and would initiate legal action against Salman, he maintained.
Amrita is the younger sister of Salman's sister-in-law, Malaika Arora .
