Exactly a decade after Dharmendra made Betaab for Sunny, he placed Barsaat on a platter and presented it to chhotta puttar Bobby.

Barsaat also boasted of showcasing the debut of Rajesh and Dimple's daughter Twinkle Khanna. But the film bombed. Bobby Deol could not impress in his first go as his elder brother did.

But assets in the form of good looks and a good deal of patience slowly led him to the path of success. He waited for time to pass. Dozens of films came his way but they held little meaning. He refused them all till Kareeb happened. Kareeb may not have created box-office records but Bobby's talent was noticed.

Abbas and Mustaan were looking for a good-looking yet rugged face for their thriller. Bobby fit the bill. Hence Bobby's re-birth with Soldier. The film straightened box-office records for the actor …….
