SCOOP!! & NEWS Tumsa Nahin Dekha: About love and money!25th Sept 2004 00.45 IST By Nitika Desai Unlike Anurag Bose’s previous film Murder , his Tumsa Nahin Dekha , starring Dia Mirza and Emraan Hashmi , is replete with clichés and predictable turns in the story. The movie, being presented by Mahesh Bhatt and Saregama Films, stars Dia as a strip dancer and Emraan as an easygoing rich guy with Bacchanalian traits. He runs into her on a street one day and, captivated by her beauty, could not resist kissing her, only to get a sound beating from the passerbys. As expected, love happens between the two. But then a point comes when he has to make a choice between Dia and another girl who could make him a millionaire. It ultimately comes down to the choice between love and money.
According to Mahesh Bhatt, the main attraction of the movie will be Dia’s raunchy act that is much against her onscreen image. However, it has been made clear that the exposure is in the film is within decent limits. And Bhatt’s assertion is true to some extent. The pretty faced damsel with a rather neat onscreen image only arouses pity in the minds of viewers with her ‘dirty act’ of a striptease dancer. Emraan Hashmi stands in equal stead to her with his perpetually drunk act. Another strongpoint of the movie is its ‘easy on the ears’ music (by Nadeem Shravan), and the proper placement of songs in the narrative. In a nutshell, Tumsa Nahin Dekha has its share of weak and strong points. Frontbenchers craving fro Dia’s steamy act will not be disappointed, but those expecting a good story and a cinematic treat will be letdown.
