Mrs. India set to bowl everyone over!

India may be gearing to host the Mrs. World 2005 contest for the first time, but it is the Mrs. India 2004 Naina Dhaliwal who will set the temperatures raising on the screen.

Naina, who hails from Ludhiana, plays the ‘second lead’ in Himanshu Malik - Meghna Naidu starrer Jackpot’, in which she plays a rich lady who gets murdered. Naina has also done guest appearances in ‘Amavas’ and ‘Madhoshi’.

And now she will be getting her first break in ‘Gandhi Se Pehle Gandhi’.

Naina plays a tomboy with a mind of her own in ‘Gandhi Se Pehle Gandhi’. The story of the film is set in pre-independence days when the British ruled India. It addresses the hypocrisy surrounding supernatural and tantric practices prevalent at the time. It's inspired by the life of Phirsa Munda, a godman from Jharkhand, to whom people flocked for advice and guidance.

But what is making news about Naina is her sizzling photo shoot for ‘Dand-The Punishment’, which unluckily went sour.

Naina has walked out of the film ‘Dand-The Punishment’ because of the unprofessional behaviour of the producer Chunnu Mehra. According to the voluptuous beauty, she was signed for just an item number in the film, but later Mehra wanted her to do the lead role as well. He kept calling her during a trip to the Vaishno Devi shrine and promised that only a week's shooting would be required for the first schedule.

Subsequently, Naina cancelled her trip to meet his demands but a week went by and nothing happened. To add insult to injury Mehra wanted her to do the lead for the same amount that she had been offered for the item number. No extra money was forthcoming. It was then that she decided to walk out.

The photo shoot for ‘Dand-The Punishment’ was done by well-known lensman Daboo Ratnani. However Naina is not very happy with the way the pictures turned out.

According to Naina, it's not as if the highly erotic nature of the photographs bothers her, but that now she is not associated with the film.

But Naina has no regrets letting go a lead role, because she says points out that how can someone offer her a certain sum of money to do a 10-minute item number and then expect her to do the whole film without charging anything extra? It's just not done.

Naina is married to a ‘very broad minded American citizen’ Sam Dhaliwal, who is a photographer. Naina says that her husband is cool about her exposing in front of the camera. There's a 14-year age difference between them.

But while she's all set to explode on the silver screen, this married bombshell has another matter to take care of. Naina will soon be heading for Palm Springs, California to represent India at the Mrs. Globe 2004 contest.
