Salaam Namaste is emerging as the biggest Bollywood hit of the year both at home and abroad. And now the movie’s script could get a rare honour.
It is learnt that the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences (also known as Oscars) has sent an intimation to include the Salaam Namaste’s script in its library.
The move has come following the movie’s success in the US, UK and Australia, besides its good run at home.
Salaam Namaste stars Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta as two Indians living in Melbourne, Australia. The movie tells the tale of two contrasting characters in a live-in relationship.
The film is a Yash Raj production and is directed by first-timer Siddharth Raj Anand.
Other Indian movie scripts in the Oscar’s Margaret Herrick Library include Kal Ho Na Ho and Lagaan .
