After a long sabbatical, Tulip Joshi is back in action with Pooja Bhatt’s upcoming film Dhoka .
Tulip has begun her Bollywood career afresh after staying away from tinsel town for years due to her back problem. Today, Tulip is fully recovered and working in a number of films.
Ready to hit the theatres soon is Pooja Bhatt ’s third directorial effort ‘Dhoka’, in which Tulip plays a Kashmiri girl who goes on to become a suicide bomber. Newcomer Muzammil Ibrahim is her co-star in the film.
‘Dhoka’ has Muzammil playing a cop and Tulip his Kashmiri wife Sara. One day, the city is rocked by a bomb blast that kills Sara. Even before the cop could overcome the grief of his wife’s death, he encounters a shocking truth that his wife was the bomber.
Tulip says she agreed to do the movie the minute she heard her role in it. It is “a very challenging role” and far from stereotypical roles that actresses usually get in Bollywood films.
Besides ‘Dhoka’, Tulip has also done other films like Shunya (based on match-fixing in cricket), Hostel (a youth flick), Kabhi Kahin (based on reincarnation) and a yet untitled film by production house Ashtavinayak.
