Aamir and Shahrukh - united they stand!

Despite repeated rumours of rift between them, Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan are still buddies and they came together today to show their solidarity for Bollywood.

Aamir and SRK have been worried about the ongoing spat between the producers/distributers and the multiplexes over revenue sharing. Both the stars earlier had a meeting at Karan Johar 's residence and were seen together at a press conference today for United Forum of producers and distributors.


"The industry can survive only if all the sectors earn in fairness. Until that happens, the industry cannot be healthy and happy. I think it should be a partnership of equals (50-50). Distributors and exhibitors have to find a way to make it a viable business within their 50 per cent. Within my 50 per cent I have to make it profitable," Aamir said at the press conference in Mumbai.

The cause of the spat is the demand of multiplexes to have more than 50 percent of the revenue.

Shahrukh said that the industry has taken a stand for what is legitimate.

"We are not here to deprive our audiences of the films we make... I want to make it clear that this is not a strike; this is just a way to repair the problems. This is not something for greed or little profits. It is a basic fight for equality. We are here for the cause of 'fair rights for Friday nights'," he said.

Shahrukh also stressed that the press meet should not be seen as a "power show".

"This is not a power show. We haven't gathered here to threaten multiplexes. This is not a show of power but of togetherness," said Shahrukh who also felt that there should be equal sharing of revenue.

By now you all know that no new movies from Bollywood are going to release in multiplexes until the strike ends. Akshay Kumar's 8x10 Tasveer was the last movie to release at plexes on April 3.
