Sreekumaran The curtain seems to have come down at last (or has it?) on the Khushboo episode with the former reigning queen of Tamil cinema being granted bail by a Tamil Nadu court. The actress surrendered in the Mettur court after the judge issued a non-bailable warrant in connection with a defamation suit filed against her for controversial remarks on premarital sex. 
Bail has been granted on a personal surety of Rs 5,000. But the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) lawyer opposed grant of bail to Khushboo. The judge, however, ignored his objections. The judge has imposed another condition, too: Khushboo should not give any more interviews on the controversial issue. Meanwhile, actress Suhasini, who had defended Khushboo, has tendered an apology to the Nadigar Sangham. In a letter to Nadigar Sangham chief Vijayakant, Suhasini has expressed regrets for hurting Tamil sentiments and causing anguish. With both actresses taking remedial action, hopefully, the last word has been said on the episode, which had rocked Tamil Nadu.
