SCOOP!! & NEWS There is no casting couch in Bollywood: Shakti Kapoor25th Mar 2005 09.42 IST By Agencies Shakti Kapoor seems to be a relieved man now. He has resumed shooting after a film body withdrew its ban on him. But after all that hullabaloo over that sting operation by India TV, Kapoor says that he is not wary of journalists for most journalists are with him.
Talking to a leading newspaper recently, Kapoor said that journalists have shown solidarity and supported him. Kapoor adds that on that Sunday, when the ‘operation’ took place, BBC did a 45-minute feature on him, called The Uncrowned Star of India. Kapoor fails to understand why of all the people he was targeted in Bollywood. But now he says that the episode has been an eye-opener for the industry. The industry will now be careful and has already decided to ban this particular channel. Kapoor says the tape was completely tampered with. He says he has apologised and has been forgiven. The industry is standing by him today and adds that there is nothing called the casting couch in Bollywood. On how his family dealt with the whole situation, Kapoor said both his children, a son and daughter are adults and understand circumstances. But they have been hurt. He said they sat together and wept for hours. He apologised to them not just for his faults but for embarrassing them and they are with him today. Kapoor adds that every person errs at sometime.
