Actor Abhay Deol is now turning producer and he has chosen a rather interesting name for the production company.
Forbidden Films. That will be the banner under which the actor-turned-producer plans to launch his first home production ‘Junction’ that will be directed by debutant Atul Sabrawal.
Abhay, who was in Goa for the premiere of his film Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! said ‘Junction’ would go on floors next year.
“I have decided to branch out to other medium of film making. I am not giving up acting. But, will not be facing the camera for films which I produce,” he said on Thursday.
Speaking of the unusual name ‘Forbidden Films’ for his company, Abhay said: “In my career I have worked in films with unusual scripts by first-time directors. Not many Bollywood actors would want to do such films. Hence I chose the name (Forbidden Films).”
Abhay has chosen unconventional scripts since his debut as an actor – be it Socha Na Tha or Manorama Six Feet Under .
Other Bollywood actors who have turned producers include Aamir Khan , Shahrukh Khan , Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar .
