Shahrukh Khan has made a significant contribution to Aziz Mirza’s film Kismat Konnection .
There is a strong SRK connection to the movie starring Shahid Kapur and Vidya Balan in lead roles. Throughout the film’s making, Mirza – a friend and mentor of SRK – discussed the project with the superstar and used his feedback for the betterment of the film.
Now, Mirza has achieved a definitive SRK presence in ‘Kismat Konnection’. And that, quite fatefully, happened with some interference from kismat.
Mirza had initially planned to have Juhi Chawla to do voiceover in the film. Juhi plays the character of a crystal-ball reading fortuneteller, so it made sense to have her do the narration.
But Juhi felt a feminine voice wouldn’t do justice to the film’s visuals. That’s when Mirza thought of getting SRK to do the voiceover.
All it took Mirza was a call to SRK and the superstar immediately said yes. He and SRK go back a long way, having worked together in five films, including Chalte Chalte , Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman.
So, on Monday, barely hours after he returned from his trip to London, SRK went to the recording studios to do the voiceover. Though SRK was limping (probably nursing a foot injury), there was no sign of jetlag as he did the recording.
The superstar’s energy and dedication left Mirza overwhelmed. The recording needed to be done soon as the film is nearing its release on June 18, and SRK made a timely contribution to make sure it meets the deadline.
