OTT services have become a big player in the entertainment industry. The audiences are no longer glued to only TV screens for daily soaps, dramas or movies instead most of them, especially the younger generations have found their scoop of entertainment in web-series. Where the International producers have already spoiled their audiences with classic and modern web-series, Indian producers and directors aren’t behind in this race. 2019 has seen producers making a long jump by producing fantastic web series and web movies like Criminal Justice, Delhi Crime, Mirzapur, Breathe, Family Man, Lust Stories, etc. With a bang-on year that these web-series had, 2020 isn’t going to disappoint the audiences. Here are a few web series that you can crazily binge-watch.

1. Jamtara

Set in Jamtara district of Jharkhand, the web series deal with a phishing scam by a group of young cons. For earning easy money, they push themselves into scamming people off their credit cards. The story takes sharp turns when two members of the group try to usurp the other member in order to gain an upper hand. While this drama was less, the local police, goons and politicians join in leading to irreversible circumstances.

2. Code M

Beyhadh actress Jennifer Winget is a household name when it comes to television. She’ll soon be seen in a whole new avatar of a Military Lawyer in the upcoming web-series produced by Juggernaut Productions. The actress is known for giving a phenomenal performance on screen, hence the stakes are high. A mystery thriller, Code M will also see Tanuj Virwani and Rajat Kapoor in the lead role.

3. The Forgotten Army

Okay! So this one is going to blow your minds! The web series would revive the memories of sacrifice, love and courage of the Indian National Army led by Subhash Chandra Bose. The Forgotten Army- Azaadi Ke Liye assures you a rollercoaster of emotions filled with patriotism. The series marks the digital debut of Kabir Khan who also made his directorial debut with a documentary ‘The Forgotten Army’ in 1999 which was aired on Doordarshan. Today, the documentary stands as the foundation of this upcoming web series.

4. Breathe Season 2

Season 1 of the thriller saw ace actor R.Madhavan in lead playing the role of a father who could go to any extent so to save his son’s life, hence, was killing all the organ donors. To investigate these murders, Amit Sadh played the role of an unconventional cop. Season 2 will be a huge surprise for the audiences as Abhishek Bachchan is all set to make his digital debut with it. Accompanying him would be the beautiful Saiyami Kher. The makers of the web series have been successfully able to keep the story under wraps. Hence, there’s no clue but one that this again will be a spine-chilling thriller.

5. Baahubali: Before the Beginning

Time to rejoice for all the Baahubali fans as their favourite movie is soon to have a prequel series based on Anand Neelakantan’s 2017 novel, The Rise of Sivagami. The planned series focuses on Sivagami’s rise from a princess to Mahishmati’s Queen. It will surely have heap loads of drama, actions and splurge of emotions.

6. Mirzapur 2

Pankaj Tripathi’s character of Kaleen Bhaiya was the most beloved character among the audiences. Mirzapur had left an amazing impact on the binge-watchers. Casting industry’s one of the best actors, Vikrant Massey,  Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Rasika Duggal, the series garnered huge appreciation at the hands of its audiences. The clash between Akhandanand Tripathi the mafia boss of Mirzapur and his son Munna, a hungry heir of his father’s power lead to unforeseen circumstances engrossing the innocents within its boundaries. The first series ended on a shocking note and since then the fans have been waiting for its sequel. But guess what? The wait is over!

7. It Happened In Calcutta

Set in the 60s and 70s, the Karan Kundra and Naghma Rizwan starer, It Happened in Calcutta, is a love saga which also touches upon the conditions of Calcutta during the 60s. It talks about cholera and socio-political issues that affected the city in its 60s. Hence, the series would bring a breath of fresh love while always going back to the other two issues.

8. Mentalhood

The web series showcases a topsy-turvy ride of various mothers to manoeuvre their path through unreasonable expectations to raise their children. How multitasking becomes their only option, hence a habit, always worrying about their family, juggling between the odds, and guilt stitch together to form the crux of this show. The series also mark the digital debut of dazzling Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor along with other superb actors like Sandhya Mridul, Shruti Seth, Sanjay Suri, Dino Morea, Shilpa Shukla and last but not the least Tillotama Shome.
