The music of ‘Lafangey Parindey’, composed by newcomer R Anandh from the music band ‘Agosh’, has a distinct edge. The album starts with the title track Lafangey Parindey which is high on zeal. It bears a clear stamp of rock music. A good introduction number for the Lafangeys by Ronit Sarkar.
Hold on! There is another Lafanga in the album; it’s Mann Lafanga and listening to Mohit Chauhan belting out this track is a treat. The terrific foreground score with the easy guitar strumming scores well. Man Lafanga remix is smashing.
The hurly-burly of sounds continues in the album and the next offering Rang Dalein crooned by Suraj Jagan jolts you with its impressive musical arrangement. Listening to the number, one can’t escape the adrenalin rush.
Dhatad Tatad is very street’sy. The song amazes with its rustic-rock flavor, and you can expect some jhumkas too. Helmed by singers Anushka Manchanda and Shail Hada, the number leaves an impression. The instrumental Born To Fly baffles you in the start with its haunting music but later shifts the track with the Rang Dalein tone.
The Lafangey Parindey album doesn’t have a dark undertone like Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey; instead it is loud, heady, infectious, and full of musical verve. Moreover, the songs and their lyrics stick to the narrative. All this makes Lafangey Parindey worth a listen.
You would like numbers like Mann Lafanga, Nain Parindey, Rang Dalein.
