Mahesh Bhupathi and Lara Dutta are engaged
Mahesh has made it official. Mahesh Bhupathi's twitter status read, "So Lara and me got engaged in NY last week", and Lara Dutta happily retweeted with a smiley.

In the past, the two have remained tight lipped about their relationship and beyond the public signs of affection they have never acknowledged that they are a couple. Mahesh and Lara were frequently seen together hand-in-hand at award shows and other public appearances. The couple made a smashing entry first at Filmfare Awards night early this year and set many tongues wagging.

They had even been rumored to be living together, yet they had been quick to rubbish all rumors that they were a couple.

Bhupathi has gone through a bitter divorce with his wife of seven years, Shvetha Jaishankar, before hooking up with former Miss Universe Lara Dutta.

The media had been expecting a confirmation from the tight-lipped couple on learning that Lara was going to accompany Mahesh to the US Open, to cheer for her man on the tennis court from the box where the players’ near and dear ones sit.

Clearly, they two are ‘in love’, and are now happy to tell the world about it.
