After mehendi and sangeeth, stage set for Vivek Oberoi’s wedding

At a sprawling farm house in Bangalore on Thursday, the mehendi and sangeeth ceremonies were a glitzy affair, setting the tempo for the lavish wedding of Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva today.

Vivek wore a crimson kurta while Priyanka chose an orange ghagra choli for the mehendi ceremony. The outfits were designed by Shantanu-Nikhil. The couple wrote their names on each other’s palms with henna at the mehendi ceremony.

There was a spread of culinary delights from Italy, north India and South India in the afternoon.

The celebratory mood caught on in the night when the guests danced to the tunes of Bollywood music and the enthralling beats of Sivamani’s drums. Both Vivek and Priyanka, along with their parents, also danced to the music.

The Friday morning began with a puja and the haldi ceremony. There was even shehnai music resonating in the air, setting the mood for a perfect wedding.
