They make the oddest match. A sober, NRI munda tying the knot with a rebellious desi kudi! Expect matrimonial fireworks in this comedy titled Tanu Weds Manu, starring Kangana Ranaut and Madhavan as its star-crossed couple.

The film also stars Jimmy Shergill as an aggressive guy with a lot of flamboyance and swagger. Swara Bhaskar plays Tanu’s best friend and the only girl who can tolerate Tanu’s tantrums. Ravi Kishen plays the right-hand man of Jimmy Shergill.

The supporting cast includes Deepak Dobriyal, Rajendra Gupta, K K Raina and Eijaz Khan.

R Madhavan as Manoj Sharma aka Manu
Smart, intelligent, caring, the shy & sweet NRI boy is a doctor by profession, settled in London and would never do anything his parents would disapprove of. He loves reading, listening to old Hindi songs and hates loud music and crowded places. He hopes to marry a sweet, simple homely girl someday.

Kangna Ranaut as Tanuja Trivedi aka Tanu
A beautiful charming and extroverted girl from Kanpur, she lives life by her own rules and dreams of marrying any guy who her parents will hate. She has a BA (Hons) degree from Delhi University, and while she loves fast bikes, alcohol, tattoos and Che Guevara, she hates arranged marriages and social norms.

Synopsis

Marriages are made in heaven! Though the road to heaven might be a little "tedha".

Meet 'Manu', a seedha saadha Doctor from London. Intelligent, temperate and from a respectable family, the perfect groom which every parent wants for their daughter. 'Family pressure' leads him to Kanpur to meet Tanu the quintessential small town girl who has studied in Delhi.

Tanu is a smart, intelligent girl who will do everything that her parents will disapprove. With a mind of her own and a love for rebellion, Tanu is dead against an arranged marriage.

And when the twain meets, sparks shall fly in the heartland of India.
