Arshad Warsi has never been known to be diplomatic in his remarks. He speaks his mind, even if some people may draw their own meanings from his comments.
Latest, Arshad has expressed his disapproval of the 7 year jail sentence given to actor Shiney Ahuja by a Mumbai court in a rape case dating back to 2009. Arshad thinks an example is being made out of Shiney just because he’s an actor and, therefore, famous.
“Murderers, terrorist and corrupt politicians are walking free and Shiney Ahuja gets 7yrs... Judiciary should stop targeting Actors so blatantly,” Arshad wrote on his Twitter page.
When some people objected to Arshad’s comment, he clarified that he’s not defending Shiney.
“I am NOT saying he's right but don't forget that Kassab is still enjoying our hospitality...” Warsi wrote.
To make his point, Arshad added: “Do you know the no. of rapes that happen in our country on a daily basis by influential and connected people... Those cases are not even registered... My point is all criminals should be punished equally, it’s not fair to make an example of an actor only because it makes news.”
