|Director Kapil Sharma wants to make a tribute to iconic actress Rekha, in a film that portrays the life of the actress. Even today, many look up to Rekha for her excellence and style.
Kapil is said to have finished working on the script, and the story will highlight upon her struggles, and will unravel her mysteries and controversies with Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, Vinod Mehra and Kiran Kumar.
Rekha started acting in films in the 1970s and the turning point in her career came in 1976 with the movie Do Anjaane in which she starred with Amitabh Bachchan, starting a long successful on-screen partnership between the two actors.
Through her career, Rekha was involved in many controversies, none bigger than the one linking her to Big B, with many rumors of the two in the media.
Rekha sure has had her ups and downs, and first-time director Kapil Sharma wants to capture pieces of her life in his film. The film is tentatively titled Sitaare.

Born as Bhanurekha on October 10, 1954 in Madras, Rekha is the daughter of south Indian actors Gemini Ganesan and Pushpavalli.
Rekha began her career in Hindi films at the age of 13 in an inconsequential film called Saawan Bhadon. In the ensuing years, Rekha emerged as one of the most popular faces of Indian cinema. Among her famous movies are particularly the ones she did with Amitabh Bachchan -- films like Do Anjaane, Suhaag, Muqqadar Ka Sikander, Mr Natwarlal, Khoon Pasina, Ram Balram and Silsila.
Among her most memorable roles is that of a courtesan-poetess in Muzaffar Ali’s Umrao Jaan for which she won National Award, Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Khoobsurat (won Filmfare Award) and Rakesh Roshan’s Khoon Bhari Maang (won Filmfare Award).
