The actor will soon be seen in an action flick

Akshay Kumar back to being Khiladi Kumar
Akshay Kumar was once known for his machismo. But he lost his action hero plot to comedy movies! After the success of films like Hera Pheri, Akshay thought he had found his forte - comedy!

But after the consecutive failure of his comedy films he has exhaustively realised that he was being far too monotonous. Akshay confirmed that his upcoming film Rowdy Rathore is an out-and-out action flick. Also, he will now work with new directors and start experimenting.

He is quoted as saying by a leading daily: “I realised that I was doing the same kind of films. That happens to an actor without realising. A certain kind of film works, and you think this is what the audience likes, or wants, and you keep following that pattern…Now I want to get out of my comfort zone, and that is why I have signed up with directors I haven't worked with before.”

Akshay also defended the directors of his failed films. He said that the films go wrong, not the filmmakers. He quoted Nikhil Advani’s example in this context and said that though Chandni Chowk To China didn’t do too well, Patiala House was well appreciated by everyone.

Akshay was also quick to dismiss rumours about him and Shahrukh Khan working together. He said there was no such project in the pipeline.

Well, we hope Akshay’s action flicks amuse us the way his long lost comedy movies used to. Better late than never!
