Himesh Reshammiya will be composing the music for Salman Khan's upcoming movie Bodyguard. With two big hits -- Dabangg and Ready -- under his belt, Bodyguard is now the most hotly awaited movie of the year and Himesh is the latest to publicly join the Salman Khan fan club.
This will mark a comeback of sorts for Himesh, who had refused to do music for films that did not star him. However, the task will not be simple as all of Salman’s recent films have had chart topping numbers and given Salman’s recent emphasis on having a good soundtrack, all ears will be on Himesh.
The music for Bodyguard was being composed by Pritam, who is now instead composing the music for Salman’s YRF project Ek Tha Tiger and Himesh will be taking over the reins to compose the music for Bodyguard.
Salman Khan had given Himesh his initial big break as a composer and the two seemed to have had a falling out, that was much speculated about as the cold vibes between them had been obvious on many occasions. Though in an interview to TOI, Himesh has denied that there was never any tiff between the two and they remain good friends.
"We never had any problem whatsoever! It was only media speculation, and it was proved when I went to his show Dus Ka Dum. Salman Bhai is my brother for whom I can do anything if he tells me to do so! He's the most generous person and a true friend, and I'm happy be a part of Bodyguard!" reveals Himesh to TOI.
Himesh has not seen too much success -- as a musician -- in recent years, as none of his singing-acting-romancing projects have fared well at the box office. There may be a chance for a last hurrah though as his forthcoming film Dammadamm is expected to release around Diwali this year and Himesh is expecting it to perform well.
It is great to see a superstar like Salman share his success with friends and family. As for Himesh Reshammiya, it's time for him to return to his roots.
