Box Office update: 'Delhi Belly' on its way to be a hit; 'Bbuddah' fares average!

Producer Aamir Khan and the rest of the Delhi Belly gang is already in a celebratory mood as the film is raking in the moolah at the box office. On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan’s film Bbuddah - Hoga Terra Baap too seems to be pulling some crowd.

It’s a weekend like this that the exhibitors love to see at box office. Both the new releases fared well at ticket windows though Delhi Belly clearly had the upper hand with the first weekend collection of Rs. 21.22 crore nett. The film did particularly well in Mumbai, Delhi and Mysore. What’s heartening is that the film’s business did not dip on Monday; it collected Rs. 4.75 crore nett approx on Monday. If the good run continues till Friday, the film might round off its first week business at around Rs. 37 crores, which puts it on the way to be a HIT.

Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap pales in comparison but still managed to pull its share of crowd to theatres. The movie rounded off its first weekend with a collection of Rs. 6.27 crores, which is a decent figure for a film of low budget. However, the collection dipped on Monday, with the film making just Rs. 90 lakhs.

The coming Friday would see the release of two films Murder 2 and Chillar Party. Murder 2 is expected to take a good opening.
