This relegation hasn’t rattled Kalki’s nerves one bit. The girl is pretty chilled out in her own space.
“I am not the kind of person who thinks about how many lines do I have to deliver, how much footage would I get in a film or whether my co-actor has a stronger part than me,” says Kalki who is married to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.
In Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Kalki plays an upper class Mumbai girl who is about to get engaged to the character played by Abhay Deol. This is the second time she is working with Abhay, after making her Bollywood debut opposite him in hubby’s film Dev D.
Talking about Deol, she says, “I’m quite comfortable work with Abhay. We’ve been pals since Dev D days.”
The French-born actress is pretty impressed by the skills of her director Zoya Akhtar.
“I really enjoy the balance that she brings in when it comes to merging real and commercial cinema, as seen in Luck By Chance. My priority is to get the script and the director right and I found them both here,” Kalki says.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara stars Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Kalki, Abhay and a Spanish actress named Ariadna Cabrol. The film is slated to release on July 15.
