Bachchan posted on his Twitter page that he fears that the team of Aarakshan might even be arrested if they try to enter Lucknow.
“And now the bad news .. our Lucknow trip tomorrow cancelled because the U.P administration withdraws all permission to conduct promo... The administration does not allow us to enter the city..unofficial reports by police say they have instructions to arrest us if we do,” Amitabh Bachchan posted on the micro-blogging site.
The 68-year-old star plays a college principal in Aarakshan, which is based on the controversial issue of reservations in education system. The film has been given a clearance by the Indian Censor Board, yet there is a hushed apprehension about its content.
“Feel disappointed that we are not allowed to promote film in U.P Lucknow .. admin feels will excite and cause law and order problem... They say it is a sensitive subject and do not want us to enter the city even...without even seeing the film, duly Censored ?? Strange,” Big B wrote.
After being prevented from entering Lucknow, Big B and Jha headed to Delhi.
“But we must follow the law of the land .. and the principles that our Constitution is based on .. will go straight to Delhi now!!” Amitabh Bachchan wrote.
Meanwhile, Jha and Bachchan have been bonding thick lately. In fact, Jha plans to make his next movie with Bachchan.
