A R Rahman wishes an Oscar win for 'Dam 999' At The Press Meet
A R Rahman, himself the winner of two Oscars, wishes a golden man statuette for the film Dam999 as well.

Dam999 has made it to the list of 265 films running for the Best Picture nomination for the Academy Awards to be held in February. Three songs from the film, composed by Ousephachen, are competing with 36 other songs for a nomination in the Best Song category.

A R Rahman, who knows Ousephachan personally, says he wishes that the film Dam 999 at least goes on to win an Oscar.

“I was very excited to hear about Dam 999. Hariharan (singer) texted me about it. I know Ousephachan, we have worked together. I pray at least one of the songs wins an Oscar because the film's music is brilliant,” Rahman told a news agency.

The 45-year-old composer was in Agra to launch the music of his upcoming film 'Ek Deewana Tha', starring Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson and directed by Gautham Menon. At the music launch Rahman played the songs from the film's soundtrack with a view of the monument of love the Taj Mahal in the backdrop.
