Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan walked away with top honours at the biggest award nite in Bollywood: the 57th Idea Filmfare Awards.
Save for a few exceptions like Aamir Khan and now perhaps Emraan Hashmi, almost everyone covets the black lady that has over the last 57 years become the incontrovertible honour for the best talents in Hindi film industry. This year’s Filmfare Awards -- to reward the best talents and films of 2011 -- was held in Mumbai on the night of January 29 and saw Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara scooping maximum statuettes, followed by Rockstar and The Dirty Picture.
Ranbir Kapoor, who co-hosted the show with Shahrukh Khan, won the Best Actor (Male) for his seething performance in Rockstar. Vidya Balan lapped the black lady for Best Actor (Female) for her stellar and bold performance in The Dirty Picture. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was adjudged the Best Film and its director Zoya Akhtar was named the Best Director.
The 57th Filmfare Awards also saw the giving away of the 2500th diamond studded Filmfare trophy, befittingly to A R Rahman for his music in Rockstar.
