Riteish and Genelia to tie the knot on Friday

The Big Day is finally here. Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza are all set to get married in a lavish but private Maharashtrian-style wedding on Friday.
The wedding festivities had kicked off on Tuesday with a star-studded Sangeet ceremony attended by a lot of celebrities from Bollywood. On Wednesday, a haldi ceremony was held at Ritesh’s place. It’s a traditional ceremony in which the groom is smeared with haldi (turmeric) all over his body.
Genelia D’Souza, on the other hand, was a part of a traditional Christian ceremony in which close friends and relatives pour coconut milk on the bride. Genelia also visited a church to offer her prayers.
Today, the couple will tie the knot at suburban five-star hotel. Genelia’s bridal dress is reportedly designed by Ritu Kumar. It’s an ensemble of lehanga, choli and odhni in gold and indigo blue. The blouse is made of indigo blue velvet with antique dhapka embroidery, while the lehanga has antique gold weaving with zardozi embroidery. According to the designer Ritu Kumar, the wedding ensemble of Genelia resembles a 19th century archival piece.
Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza have apparently bought a new house in Juhu that would be their love nest after the wedding.
