Song promo: Watch ‘Piya Tu Kahe Rutha Re’ from ‘Kahaani’

When the music composer duo Vishal-Shekhar launched the music album of the film Kahaani along with the ‘hero’ of the film Vidya Balan, they admitted that the fans always expect something out of the ordinary from them. They claim to have delivered that in the music of Kahaani

As the movie’s story is about a pregnant woman’s search for her missing husband, a search that takes her through an emotional journey, the album requires mostly situational tracks that can take the storyline forward and add melody to the otherwise sombre tone of the film. The track Piya Tu Kahe Rutha Re expresses Vidya’s anguish. All she wants is to meet her husband but encounters unexpected and grave situations. In the video, one could also notice the Bengali actor Parambrata Chatterjee, who gets to share screen space with Vidya in this film.

Like the first track Aami Shotthi Bolchi, the song Piya Tu Kahe Rutha Re also delves on strong instrumentation. The song is sad and is shot very dramatically, which also makes it an engaging watch.

Vishal-Shekhar, who also had composed the peppy music for The Dirty Picture, say that they have tried to match the audiences’ expectations with Kahaani. Well, after listening to the first two numbers, we think the duo have done justice to a film like Kahaani which not a regular Bollywood fair.
