Saif Ali Khan having second thoughts about 'Agent Vinod' sequel?

The plan of making the Agent Vinod sequel has hit a pit with Saif Ali Khan reportedly having second thoughts about going ahead with the sequel.

Saif is not exactly thrilled to bits by the mixed response his dream project Agent Vinod has got at the box office, with some viewers liking the film and others finding it boring and overwrought. The critics too haven’t been unanimous in either praise or censure for the film, putting the producers Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan in a dilemma as to whether they should go ahead with the film’s sequel or not.

Director Sriram Raghavan was, for one, gung-ho about the sequel in the days leading up to the film’s release and had even hinted that he might start working on the sequel soon. And after the film’s release Raghavan had said: “Maybe in a month, I will start working on another film for the franchise.”

The box office, however, hasn’t thrown up figures that Saif Ali Khan expected Agent Vinod to garner. A source tells us that Saif is now looking forward to see how much the movie makes in its first week run at theatres.

“According to Saif the real test of the film starts not in the opening weekend but from Monday onwards, and he has been looking at the box office figures keenly. Only when he’s sure that the sequel can be a profitable venture will he take the call,” says a source.

So all those declarations about the sequel of Agent Vinod have turned muted now and we will wait for an official word from Saif if Agent Vinod 2 is indeed on the track or has been scrapped.
