First Trailer: 'Total Recall' promises sci-fi extravaganza!

The first trailer of the Hollywood actioner Total Recall is so slick and power-packed that it leaves you asking for more.

The year is 2084. The place is Euromerica a dystopian world at war with New Shanghai for political supremacy. In this milieu, Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), a simple factory worker becomes a crucial pawn in a deadly game. Quaid has frequent nightmares, and he suspects that he’s a spy but can’t be sure which side he’s working for.

Jessica Biel plays a young freedom fighter Melina who comes to Quaid’s rescue. Kate Beckinsale plays Quaid’s wife.

In the trailer we see Quaid visiting a Rekall place which he is warned about. Turns out that at this place one can trade fantasy for memory. The machine he’s plugged into reveals a truth that sets the ball in motion and thereafter we see Quaid on the run.

The VFX effects in the trailer are topnotch and the story is intriguing, to say the least.

Total Recall is directed by Len Wiseman. The film is based on the 1966 novelette We Can Remember For You Wholesale that inspired the 1990 movie Total Recall starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The 2012 version has Colin Farrell as the leading man.
